Music Monday: Dillon Francis
I absolutely live for Dillon Francis' whole existence. I stayed up past 3AM while I was at school just to watch his livestream from Coachella and when the stream glitched and restarted from the beginning of the set, I sat through the first twenty minutes again and stayed through the end.
I also got a chance to see him perform at the Greatest Day Ever festival in the Bronx this summer, but I'll spare you the low quality snapchat video footage that I hold near and dear to my heart.
If you're unfamiliar with Dillon Francis, he is an American EDM DJ who is known for his piñata sidekick, multiple personalities, and social media antics. He's rightly recognized as EDM's class clown and I am 1000% here for that aesthetic. He's most well known for his moombahton, but also produces great trap, house and dubstep tracks.
In the past couple of weeks, Dillon Francis has dropped a handful of new tracks and remixes that fill my heart with glee and significantly improve all of my workouts and commutes. Let's check out his three most recent tracks, shall we?
Hello There ft. Yung Pinch
This song drenched in upbeat summer vibes and it's impossible to not feel energized by it. Hello There has been killing it in the Spotify charts for EDM, workouts, and new music! Not to mention, in classic Dillon Francis style, this song was promo'd by plastering LA in posters of this ridiculous pineapple man.
[UPDATE] The official music video for Hello There was released today, and it's so consistent with Dillon's sense of humor. It's crazy well done and hella entertaining.
Mi Gente (Remix)
I'm a huge fan of Mi Gente to begin with, but this remix brings it to an entirely different level. When this song comes on in my car I can't even stop myself from totally jamming out when the drop hits. This remix preserves the tone of the original song but takes it onto a new plane of being a total banger.
Bad At Love (Remix)
Another great remix from Dillon Francis. This track is completely different from the other too and has more of a laid back quality to it. For people who like electronic music but prefer it to not be as hard-hitting or aggressive, this side of Dillon Francis will appeal to you. His versatility and variety is what makes him one of my all time favorite EDM artists.
